NielehnTeknik in Sweden recently undertook a test of roller rings from 3 manufacturers of agricultural machines, one of them being HE-VA, and the conclusion was:
“The biggest ring from HE-VA is best. It is called 620-10 and has a diameter of 58 cm and a weight of 30 kg. We hit the ring 150 times, but the ring still stood strong”, NielehnTeknik writes in an article in the Swedish magazine Vältteknik.
The strength of the rings was tested twice by mounting the rings in an axis in a guillotine, where a heavy block was thrown down on to the ring from respectively 70 and 90 cms height and with respectively 96 and 156 tons. The HE-VA steel moulded roller ring was still intact after 150 strokes in the first test, where similar products lasted for up to 7 strokes.
Agricultures with strong soil-types can experience challenges with the roller rings being damaged, which reduces the efficiency in the field as well as it is expensive buying new rings.
The special roller ring is a new initiative from HE-VA, where the word strength has been one of the key words.
“This roller ring has been developed in order to offer a stronger alternative, when you have hard and stony soil types. It is steel moulded in order to secure ultimate strength and has been designed with 10 spokes, so that the weight is transferred onto the entire ring and contributes to a stable construction with a very little risk of breaking damages,” says Heine Christiansen, Technical Director at HE-VA.
The roller ring has been under development for a long time and has in fall 2017 and spring 2018 been through more tests and will be part of the HE-VA Roller assortment as of 1 January 2019.
